Tween Library Build-off November 15, 5:30-7 pm. Ages 9 - 14
This event is for tweens ages 9 to 14 and their parents to kick off the Minecraft Library Build-off contest. We will be serving pizza and veggies. Tweens will get to meet their fellow Minecrafters and start building their dream library. Parents will have the opportunity to get a better understanding of the game and see what all the fuss is about.
Teen Library Build-off November 22, 5:30-7 pm. Ages 15 - 18
This event is for teens ages 15 to 18 to kick off the Minecraft Library Build-off contest. We will be serving pizza and veggies. Teens will get the opportunity to mingle with their fellow Minecrafters and get started on their dream library.
Contest Rules:
You must come to the age appropriate event to participate. You can not enter unless you have signed the Code of Conduct Contract, and been white listed.
You must build on the server the library provides unless otherwise approved in advance by the Young Adult Specialist.

Participants must build their ideal Minecraft library. The library can be a replica of an existing library (Like the Albany County Public Library!) or one from the creators imagination. The library must contain at least 10 visible book shelf blocks. There are no other requirements aside from those stated in the code of conduct contract about inappropriate symbols.
Seriously, as long as you have the book shelf blocks, your library could have a lava pit or be one single tower 200 blocks high. You could have a roller coaster or a room full of trees. It's Minecraft. Use your imagination and go nuts! (Inspiration.)

The server will be in creative mode so no need to worry about creepers and zombies. Flying will be enabled.
The server will open every weekend on Friday at 5:02 p.m. and remain open until midnight. It will reopen at 8 a.m. Saturday morning, close at 12:55 p.m., open at 5:02 and close at midnight, reopen Sunday 8 a.m., close 12:55 p.m., open again at 5:02 p.m. close at 9 p.m. Sorry but it's just too darn easy to stay up all night playing Minecraft, and we want you to be well rested! You will be warned that the server is about to shut down if you are still in game at midnight.

There are two participating age groups: tweens and teens. Tweens ages 9-14 and teens ages 15-18. The contest begins Friday at 5:30 p.m. on November 15 for ages 9-14, and Friday at 5:30 p.m. on November 22 for ages 15-18. Participants will only be competing with tweens or teens within their own age group. In other words the tweens are not competing with the teens. The contest ends Friday, December 20 at 5:00 p.m. for both age groups. Everyone is invited back on that day to cast their vote and see who wins the prize, we will also have refreshments and some free time to run around the server in survival mode.
If you are caught in violation of any of the policies set forth in the Acceptable Code of Conduct contract you will be disqualified and banned from the Minecraft server.
